“Where’s Jack?” Hannah whispered.

Eli looked puzzled. “Why are you asking me? Can’t you see him?” The three of them moved quietly into the living room, away from the crowd of people filling the kitchen. Almost everyone else was there now; Jonathan, the Sandstrøms, Ryan and Janice, and Henry. And they were all talking at once.

“I’m not looking, Eli. I told him I wouldn’t…”

“No. You didn’t. You only promised him you wouldn’t intrude on his thoughts. You don’t have to do that to know where he is. And you know that!”

“He’s coming, Hannah,” Oskar reassured her. “With his mom.”

A New Life

Chapter 1: Hi my name is Teresa. Officer Jim has taught me a lot of things. For example the 8 ways to say no to drugs. How gangs can affect your family if you enter one. These young people get involved in gangs because they have lower self-steem, and they think these people are their friends. It is not good being in a gang because if you try to get out you can get killed. I also learned that nicotine is a substance that is found in cigarettes. Drinking alcohol can cause accidents, chage your personality, and you can have trouble learning and remembering.

Chapter 14
As I am sleeping. I get cold as if someone has opened it. I get up and turn on the light. There in the window is a paper sticking out. I get it. "Thank you for everything! your friend, Eli." How did she get ... but I am too tired and sleepy to wonder.

It was the third day of Hannah’s hibernation, and Richard was getting nervous. “She’s not a vampire, Elaine. I don’t think she’ll be able to survive months of hibernation like Eli did. She’ll die of starvation.”

“We don’t know what she’s capable of, Rich. She’s…unique.”

“We know she’s no stronger than Eli or Oskar,” he retorted. “And Eli just barely survived herself with her full strength.”

“That doesn’t sound like a rigorous scientific observation to me, Rich. You’re thinking with your heart now. Eli could have hibernated another month or two safely. Believe me, I know.”

Chapter 10:
At recess Michelle comes over to the bench were I am eating my lunch. She keeps asking about Oskar.
"Did you see him when you went to your aunt's?"
How does she find out this things?
"Yes and he was with a girl."
There that would make her stop bothering.
"Oh."
Finally she stops talking. I walk away to class. I though that answer was enough. She keeps insisting. All day she continues to seek more information. This. That. What were they doing? "Her name. Did you talk to her."
"No."
Stop. Stop. Talk and talk. Ask him if you are so concern.

Together

Prologue:
I hold your hand. You are close to me. You hold my heart. Those old memories fade from that other life. In that life that I led when you were not with me. The years when I was a ghost and no one noticed me. Before you came everything was darkness. Now that life is gone. Those memories leave. We begin our new life. Creating memories together. We are together.

Ryan let the phone ring several times before he gave up and hurried back up the hill. He wanted desperately to help them, but Jonathan had told him in no uncertain terms that he was not to go out without an Elilight. Janice’s lights were still off, so he’d have to go get the lamp himself. He hurried up the steps, but saw her window light up just as he was entering the building. He called again. “Janice? There’s been a fire at the school, but it’s out now. But Oskar was taken by Adrian, and the others went after them. And Hannah’s missing!”

“Slow down, Ryan. Adrian took Oskar? Again?”
